Laura Gawne and partner Susan Bain who operate the website on saving money on weddings, base the contest on the popular bridal shower game. Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com asked their readers to create wedding gowns using toilet paper, tape and/or glue. Entrants were allowed to sew as well.
“The top dresses this year showed incredible attention to detail.” Said Laura Gawne. Susan Bain added, “We are continually amazed by the talent our contestants display!”
The Eleventh Annual Cheap Chic Weddings “Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest” was presented by both Cheap Chic Weddings and Charmin. This year marks the fifth time Charmin has partnered in the contest.
The winners were announced at an event hosted by Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City. Dresses were judged on Creativity, Originality, Beauty, Workmanship and the use of Toilet Paper.
