Three Wedding Dress Designers Strut Their Stuff

It is always exciting to see what designers can do to stylize the wedding dress. Well it is truly amazing what continually evolves. Today I feature three designers Yumi Katsura,Victor Harper, and Simone Carvalli.

Japanese designer Yumi Katsura’s 2014 collection is truly breathtaking.  The collection features plunging backs, figure hugging silhouettes, intricate beading, and crystal detailing, in addition to using a wide variety of luxurious materials.  Satin taffeta, lace, and silks are seen throughout the collection, creating stunning bridal gowns for a sophisticated and fashion conscious bride.

Katsura has always shown an insatiable spirit of inquiry into new materials and an unrelenting pursuit of new techniques.  She launched dresses in a wide range of materials, developing many silk and lace fabrics into leading choices for Japanese bridal fashion. An example was her production of satin taffeta (satin fabric with a taffeta feel), previously considered impractical.

She also poured her energy into pioneering new fashion techniques, especially lace hollowing, as well as the fisherman’s knot she used for airy hemlines. She aroused a sensation by introducing the showy marieé dress style to the world in a Roma Collection that featured the “phosphorescence” of fluorescent embroidery thread on a dark ground. Recently, the 2010 Paris Collection drew attention with her “marine reef” dress made with tens of thousands of specially prepared fish scales.

Inspired by the musings of feminine sophistication, elegance and sensuality, the Victor Harper Collection weaves together glamour, refinement and drama in perfect silhouettes to mold and flatter the body. The collection offers bridal gowns in an assortment of exclusive fabrics that include Silk Satins, Mikado and Organza.

Each style is embellished with beading and embroidery patterns that are hand drawn by the designer and crafted in an array of Austrian crystals, pearls and trims unique to the Victor Harper Collection. The styles are available in domestic and international bridal salons renowned for their superior service and polished reputation. The Victor Harper Collection offers the perfect gown for the bride who possesses a distinguished taste for beauty, glamour and quality.

Bringing you its newest Haute Couture collection, Simone Carvalli emphasis on sophisticated silhouette, exquisite Swarovski crystals beading design, luxurious silk fabrication and contemporary applications of classic style.  Today’s wedding dress are incorporating principles of architecture and romantic design. Precision is evident in garments crafted in revolutionary needlework and sewing technologies and refine fabrications that envelop and mold the figure.
