I attended the 4th Ottawa Suhaag Wedding Show on Sunday. It was a dazzling display of colors and styles on the runway to an appreciative audience. Along with the traditional fashion there were styles incorporating some western ideas. There was a mermaid outfit that I thought was spectacular.
It is inspiring to see the men’s fashion. I like that men are able to wear colors and textures in South Asian culture. Western men’s fashion could sure take lessons to update the usual drab black men’s wear of western weddings.
The rest of the show was disappointing. Compared to last year there were fewer vendors with many empty booth spaces. There were lots of competing DJ entertainment companies pounding out music. They were so loud that it was difficult to talk to the other vendors.
Nonetheless, the fashions are always a hit.
