Congratulations go to Shannon Kennedy! Almost a year ago, she took a huge leap of faith and launched Kennedy Events. It has been a year of growth and success. Now I am super excited to announce Kennedy Events as a new sponsor!
Shannon reached a point in her four and a half year journey where she felt confident – yet still nervous – in launching herself solo. When I chatted with Shannon just prior to her launch, she envisioned a wedding planning service that offered three packages to fit a bride’s needs. I had no doubt that she would be successful because I’d worked with her on numerous occasions.
Today, she admits to still being nervous and has grown. She learned that she could do it and knows what needs to be done for the future. Kennedy Events set a goal of 12 weddings for her first year and surpassed that. She is now well on her way in bookings for 2013. Most brides come to Shannon for the Full Wedding Coordination service with the Essential Wedding service picking up.
Kennedy Events has kept true to their style and aesthetics for a wedding. Decor can be described as a classic beauty that you can find in magazines like Style Me Pretty. Shannon explains it as being “traditional without being stuffy… not too trendy or modern.. soft textures with a nod to vintage.”
As far as advice to brides and grooms is concern, she offers these three pearls of wisdom:
- Stay within your means and make choices. Take care of the big things first.
- Don’t lose yourself in the planning. Remember that a wedding is a celebration of two people in love and the day needs to reflect who you are.
- Hire a planner to take away your stress, who offers perspective and lets you enjoy the process. Shannon is touched by how intimate a relationship with a client becomes. Because she see is invited into their private lives, she develops a bond with the couple. They trust her to accomplish their vision.
One thing that remains absolutely and wonderfully constant is the fabulous person who is Shannon Kennedy. She is always cheerful and a pleasure to deal with. I know that any issue or challenge can be resolved when I have her as the planner for a wedding. It is because she loves working with people that she can produce beautiful things. Wishing you a happy anniversary and continued success!
